This 'female' tree was spotted in USM campus, nearby my lab. I submitted this photo to The Star thumbnails, i was selected but didn't win the RM50. Too bad... :( and yeah, they cropped that 'legs' off. Above is my original photo.
I'm missing those days.. ;( Listening to Backstreet boys' songs in the radio triggered my memories during those days. After school i did homework, took a nap and then glued my eyes on TV2 or TV3. If memory serves me right, the show time for cartoons was at 4.30pm. After watching cartoons, i would ride bicycle or just walking around in the house doing nothing until 6pm then continue to watch TVB drama. When it was news time, i went to bath and get ready to sleep. My bed time was at 8.30pm. Oh my..now i know why my skin is so bad if compared to the 'younger' me, it's not due to aging, it was due to my bed time! Hmm...I'll try to sleep at 8.30 pm then.
My English back then was very poor, and not so good now either. *shrug* I didn't know how to differentiate 'before' and 'after'. I always thought that 'after' was actually before because it started with 'a'. 'a' always comes before 'b', so 'after' should be 'before'.
I never watch those Hollywood or English movies as i didn't understand. I didn't know what were they talking about unless there's Malay subtitles. I didn't know how to pronounce 'in front', i pronounced it as ' in fraunt'. I still remembered my friend was laughing at me for my bad English. I felt so embarrassed, like an idiot. T_T At that moment, i promised myself i must improve my English no matter what! I never blame my parents for sending me to chinese ed school. I just blamed myself for not working hard to learn them.
Therefore, i started to read english story books. After a while, i found that it was a bad idea because i didn't understand simple sentence. I gave up and i hated english! Then, there came all the boy bands: Backstreet boys, NSYNC, 911, the moffatts, 98 degrees, O town, LFO, 5ive, hanson etc. I was so in love with those 90's boy bands especially BSB. Backstreet boys' backstreet's back was the first cassette i ever bought. I have all their album, cassettes and CDs, all original. :)
Obviously i was attracted by their looks not their songs because i didn't know what the songs were about. So, i went online and searched the lyrics and copied to my 'lyrics' book'. I also cut it from newspaper and magazines. After that i got the meaning for the word that i didn't understand from oxford dictionary . I listened to the album again and again and again once i'd finished homework because i love them so much!! Without realising it, i was actually learning pronounciation while i sang along with the song. 90's boy bands really help improving my english!
I was so intimidated to communicate in english when i was first year in uni. I had never spoken in english except in MUET speaking test or once in a blue moon with english teacher. After a few months, i could even scold people in english without full stop! I'm so proud of myself.hahahha..
"Practice makes perfect". I totally agree with this idiom.
My favourite BSB song- anywhere for you
I'd go anywhere for you, anywhere you asked me to~~~ I'd do anything for you, anything you want me to~~~ ^^ Yeah, I'll go anywhere and do anything for them. I went to their concert at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach in 2008 with my roommates. That was a memorable night for me! I've fallen in love with them since i was in standard 6 and i finally got the chance to see them up close! AAAHHhhhhhh!!! *faint*
There was an event in front of the main library recently. My labmates and i went to support them, or to be exact, to get free gifts! hahaha
Very catchy poster for breast cancer. In case you didn't get the hidden message, BREAST CANCER = BEAT CANCER.
Free stuffs that i got that day: Time magazine, Libresse gift box, Clinique's products and free Vico drinks *gulp* !.
Honestly, i never heard of Libresse as I don't really care what's the newest pads in store unless they give me free samples to try. heheh..I think they did know the existence of people like me, so they were very kind to give a gift box for those who complete their survey.
I was very surprised with their generosity! Didn't expect to get the full range of their pads for FREE! Yeah! Glad to be a student still. *winks*
Love the colourful wraps! :)
Libresse emphasizes on "absorption is nothing without fit" which can be translate to "prevent leakage". That's the most important feature of a sanitary pad. I'm so going to try them in my next cycle. ^^
Besides those free stuffs, not to mention FREE lunch also!! hahahah...i want to be a student forever!! I did not spend a single cent on that day. Thanks to my senior who passed her viva smoothly. Wish my viva will be like hers too!
Oh ya, and FREE Beauty workshop (Skincare & Makeup) by Clinique after lunch. It was fun as the speakers were very funny and energetic.
